Forsters Moutere Hills
Forsters restaurant is located at Moutere Hills Winery, just outside the artisan village of Upper Moutere.
The newly renovated restaurant has a lovely relaxed, warm feel, featuring reclaimed timber and stunning views through the sliding glass doors. It's an idyllic setting to relax over a long lunch or dinner: outside in the sheltered garden or enjoy the views and atmosphere from inside the modern and light restaurant.
Moutere Hills is a boutique winery, producing a varied range of wines. Forsters run the tasting room so you can sample some wines before choosing the perfect match for your food.

Alistair was trained in AA rosetted and Michelin-starred kitchens which laid a foundation by which he has developed his craft over the years. With calm perseverance, he continually elevates his skills and those of the staff around him to the highest standards.
Moving to New Zealand in 2009, Alistair worked at luxury lodges throughout New Zealand. He has also worked with partners such as Tasman Helicopters with their premium experience offering of the Heli-Gourmet product and was previously executive chef at the Rutherford Heritage Hotel in Nelson and Mahana winery. This journey led him to open Forsters where he prides himself with maintaining the same high standards as those where he was trained.
As a beef and lamb Ambassador in 2017 and 2018, Alistair takes his role within the industry seriously and enjoys being able to showcase and share is passion for food.
Alistair sources the finest and freshest of the produce available regionally and across New Zealand. He prepares dishes in a way that showcase those ingredients and natural flavours.
